Clementine is a good kid who has the occasional "what were you thinking moment". Many of the authors who try these kinds of book, including some of the best known and most often recommended, can be surprisingly tone deaf about what is cute and what is funny.

Many are bad at including siblings or parents in the tales/5(). Clementine is a smart, independent eight-year-old, and I just adored her. I loved that she was daring but also sensitive to other people in her life. A small detail in this book I really liked is the implication that Clementine's family may have been more lower middle class/5.

[Purnell's] book may leave you thinking Clementine is one of the most underrated, complex women in British history.” – The Daily Beast “A fascinating and well-written account of a woman who played a key role in many pivotal moments of earlyth-century British and world politics.” —Minneapolis Star-Tribune/5().

Lady Clementine is the ferocious story of the ambitious woman beside Winston Churchill, the story of a partner who did not flinch through the sweeping darkness of war, and who would not surrender either to expectations or to enemies.

Book Club Questions for Lady Clementine. The book starts off right before the wedding of Clementine and Winston. The "Lulu & Clementine" book series will follow the adventures of Salem-Wolf (her middle name is Clementine) and her little dog Lulu.

This writing project has been a labor of love for Tania as she began it when Salem was ever so small (as you can see by the awesome illustrations). Clementine by Sara Pennypacker is the first in a series of children’s chapter books following main character Clementine, a creative, wild third grader who is kind-hearted but often misunderstood by the adults and authority figures in charge of her.

Clementine, an artistically talented character, encourages readers to recognize their skills as gifts. She embraces her creativity and is open to thinking outside the box. Despite Clementine's tendency to find herself in trouble, she often acts with good intentions that seem to be misunderstood by authority figures.4/5.

In this first book of the series, Clementine tries to help out her friend Margaret, but ends up in a lot of trouble for it. Things get worse each day of the week, until finally she's worried that Margaret is right: Clementine's parents might consider her "the hard one" in the family.

I read about this book in Book Page from the local library and immediately put it on reserve - it wasn't even out yet. Mind you, I'm a something empty nester. But I LOVE great children's books and this is DEFINITELY going to be a classic. Clementine is the gutsy, imaginative, free-spirited girl we all wanted to be.5/5(6).

Clementine is a book about the family, the historical and political era, being a woman in a different time.

Yes, I quibble about her ability to sacrifice her family for the sake of Churchill, but if you get past that, the exasperating, then perhaps you'll see that that everyone during that time of upheaval had to sacrifice a lot.

And ironically in a book intended to celebrate Clementine’s own story, she presents that story largely in terms of Winston’s career. Perhaps this is : Amanda Vaill. Clementine book report form (PDF File) Customize the Clementine book report Clementine: Word Wall Clementine Word Wall.

In Marchthey met again when seated side by side at a dinner party hosted by Lady St Helier, a distant relative of Clementine's. On their first brief encounter, Winston had recognised Clementine's beauty and distinction; now, after an evening spent in her company, he realised Born: Clementine Ogilvy Hozier, 1 April.

In this final book, Clementine is having a feud with her father - she's so mad she can't even speak to him. Besides that, she has to deal with the end of the school year and all the good-byes she must say - Clementine does N-O-T, not like saying good-bye.Throughout the course of the book, Clementine is transformed from a bright but hesitant and sometimes self-doubting young bride into the formidable wife of the prime minister, with a power base of her own and an impressive list of initiatives.

Did Clementine’s metamorphosis surprise you, particularly given the historical limitations of women. THE TALENTED CLEMENTINE is a wonderful book.

With the spunk of Ramona Quimby and the curiosity of Jo March, third-grader Clementine is a fantastic role model for those who believe that someway, somehow, someday their own special talents will be needed in the world at large, and at that defining moment of their lives they will be ready to work magic 5/5(5).
